Mended Hearts is a
national non-profit organization made up of and serving people with
heart disease and their loved ones. Mended Hearts welcomes anyone who is
interested in learning to help those with heart disease. Supported by a
national office, 280 local chapters actively serve across the United
States and Canada. The network is made up of heart patients, family
members, caregivers and health care professionals who provide
information and support to recovering patients and their families during
hospital visits, by telephone, through group meetings and via the
internet.
Mended Hearts Chapter #339
based out of Greater Portland, ME, is made up of the kind of people it
serves-heart patients, their family members and caregivers. Our
volunteers provide support and inspire hope for heart disease patients
and their families.
Each month, Chapter #339's
specially trained members visit patients at the Maine Medical Center
hospital to inspire hope in patients with heart
disease. If you are interested in participating in our visiting program,
please click on the Visiting Questionaire form link, complete it, and
email back to our Volunteer Coordinator Betsi Dupont jadupont@myfairpoint.net.
